Piano Lessons

I am delighted that you are considering me as a teacher for your child (or yourself). Let me tell you a bit more about the studio.

I enjoy working with students of all ages, especially those who exhibit diligence and enjoyment of music. Currently, my studio is comprised of families who place music as a high priority in theirs or their children's lives. While all activities are definitely of value, the progress at the piano is only possible with regular, focused, and purposeful practice. I have high standards for myself and always ask for the same!  The emphasis of study is based on Classical Western music. Other styles and musical innovations are readily explored and encouraged.

What I consider of particular importance in my teaching:
1. Establishing a rapport and a trusting relationship between student and the teacher as foundation for the future of successful learning.
2. EVERY student gets a solid foundation in rhythm, technique, note-reading, and musicality. You can do anything with that.
3. We don't just TRY, we strive to ACHIEVE things.

What students get through their lessons:
1. Quality, professional piano education; ample opportunities to perform while develop at their own pace.
2. Love for music that lasts a lifetime, and/or head start of their own career path in music/piano.
3. Elements of famous Russian School of piano playing featured in a 'new light'.
4. Development of your own musical 'touch' and freedom of expression through playing.
5. Use of Technology--Piano Maestro, online theory games.
6. Provided by your instructor are: three-hole punch binder, a notebook, and  FREE copies of Piano Explorer magazine.
7. Caring, supportive environment plus community of music learners, just like yourself. You'll never feel alone!
8. Musical events, piano parties, concert outings; memories to last a lifetime.
9. A wide variety of repertoire offered through instructor's extensive library--something for everyone!
10. Lessons are held on a beautiful baby grand Yamaha piano.

Who my students are

I am always welcoming talented and dedicated beginner, intermediate, advanced and ADULT students. However...I've seen a REAL talents develop over time, as continuous effort and passion for music develop.  Most of my students stay with me for several years, my longest to date--over ten years. This is how one can develop considerable skill and repertoire, and bring it to next level!
